The Taliban showed captured weapons at the parade, turning into a regular army

The military parade was accompanied by the ceremonial commissioning of 250 freshly trained soldiers. They made a promise.

Dozens of M117 armored patrol vehicles were seen on the parade, passing slowly through Kabul’s main artery. Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters patrolled over it. Many soldiers had American M4 rifles.

Most of the Taliban’s weapons and equipment are now of American descent, and Washington supplied them to President Ashraf Ghani’s previous internationally recognized government, which the Taliban overthrew in mid-August.

The fact that Mi-17 helicopters flew over Kabul proves that the Taliban is still fulfilling its promise to put pilots, mechanics and other specialists in the Afghan national army into service.

However, it is not clear from the show how many functional aircraft and helicopters the Taliban managed to obtain. The Americans destroyed seventy of them before leaving, and the pilots flew with others to neighboring countries. The Americans also destroyed armored vehicles.

The pledge and the parade took place despite the economic crisis in which Afghanistan fell, because it has frozen funds in foreign banks. There is a risk of famine in the country.
