The Supreme Administrative Court defended ČT in a dispute over guests in the program Otázky Václava Moravec

Czech Television succeeded in a legal battle with the Union of Advocates of the Czech Republic, which requested information about guests of the program Otázky Václava Moravec from 1 January 2012 to 22 June 2017. The Supreme Administrative Court overturned a judgment of the Municipal Court in Prague ordering information. Because the television did not want to comply with the lower court’s ruling, they threatened it coercive fines from a bailiff.

“After receiving the judgment of the Supreme Administrative Court, Czech Television immediately filed a motion to stop the execution, which was initiated on the motion of the Union of Advocates of the Czech Republic, represented by Václav Vlk. Czech Television expects that the Union of Advocates of the Czech Republic will reimburse Czech Television for the costs of court proceedings already paid immediately, “reads a statement from public television published on social networks.

Among other things, the Union of Advocates wanted to know how many times lawyers, public prosecutors and judges were in Václav Moravec’s Questions, or how many times Lenka Bradáčová, the Chief Public Prosecutor in Prague, was a guest (details here).
