The final Russian Grand Prix of the season started in Moscow’s Megasport. Three winners of the previous stages met on the capital’s ice, as Vladislav Dikidzhi was unable to take part in the tournament in Samara due to illness. Vladislav Dikidzhi Compared to Kazan, I slowed down a little in physics due to a recent illness. The athlete started with the signature quad Lutz – as if there were no health problems. But at the cascade, the lack of training became obvious. After the quadruple Salchow, Dikiji took the lead on the exit, which is why he could only add a double toe loop to it. It is logical that the rental itself also suffered from this. Taking into account the circumstances, Vlad showed the maximum – 94.48 points and an intermediate third place.

Mark Kondratyuk in his first stage he failed the short program so much that he fell to the bottom of the table. Over the past month, the skater has noticeably improved his physics, even the warm-up went better. If Kondratyuk coped with the starting quad-Lutz, then the Salchow made everyone nervous in the second half. Miraculously, Mark attached a second sheepskin coat to the lutz and saved the cascade. In terms of components, the athlete was very good, playing out Spanish motifs as much as possible. Unexpectedly, one of his spins was reset – this mistake cost him about 3-4 points. Therefore, today it is only 94.21 points and the current fourth position.

The leader of the first day was Matvey Vetlugin. The skater from St. Petersburg has a weaker jump set than his main rivals. Nevertheless, Vetlugin has put together an excellent balance between technology and components. It replaces the absence of a second quad with a Lutz-Rittberger cascade in the bonus zone, and on the step track it famously conveys the emotions of tango. At the end of the first day, Matvey received 99.02 points and led the tournament table with a slight advantage. He failed to hit the 100 due to an under-rotation on the lutz.

And here Dmitry Aliyev I couldn’t cope with my nerves. The European champion achieved almost nothing in Moscow. First, a fall from an under-rotated Salchow, then a 3-2 cascade instead of the planned 4-3. Plus under-rotation on the triple axel and the traditional loss of levels on non-jumping elements. In short, this is a nightmare for an athlete of this level. Naturally, mistakes knocked Aliyev out of the right mood, so the performance turned out to be very sad. 75.69 points – only eighth place.
