Potato sector feels left out in the cold: ‘Fries smaller, more expensive and less sustainable’
The leading position that the Netherlands has built up in the production and export of fries is wavering. And that is due to ill-considered government policy, says Marc Schroeder, chairman of the Association for the Potato Processing Industry (VAVI). “The arrangements that are now being made touch the heart of the entire chain.”
