I read in the book “Encyclopedia of Music and Singing” by the late great music historian Zein Nassar about the story of a song written by the poet Muhammad Hamza for the night. Abdel Halim HafezBut death forced him to sing Nightingale, and two years after Abdel Halim’s death, Fayza Ahmed sang it after asking her husband, musician Muhammad Sultan, to perform it for Nightingale.
The story began when Nightingale wanted to collaborate with the musician Muhammad Sultan, so he gave him the lyrics of the song “The Best Way in My World”, the words of the late great poet Muhammad Hamza who traveled for treatment and he used to communicate with Sultan every day and listen to him on the phone with the melody, but in March 1977 Nightingale died, and the song remained locked in drawers until 1979, until he asked Fayza her husband, musician Muhammad Sultan, sings that song, and this is what Sultan also said and confirmed in one of the programs before his death.
It is worth noting that the singer Fayza Ahmed was discovered by the composer Mohamed Al-Nafaji, and after a while she traveled to Cairo and presented to the Egyptian radio, and the radio station Salah Zaki gave her a song by Mohamed Mohsen. Then she met the late musician Mohamed Al-Moji, and they created a singing line that separated her from others through several songs that caused a storm. It was a good song, and the song “My Heart Is Inclined to You” by the composer Mohamed Al-Mogy was the reason for her fame in Egypt, and she gave it in the movie “Tamar Henna”.
Fayza Ahmed met her husband, the musician Muhammad Sultan, for the first time at the home of the artist Farid Al-Atrash, and their meetings continued after that, until a love story brought them together, the ending a marriage that lasted 17 years, as a result of which their twins, Tariq and Amr Sultan, were afflicted with breast cancer, and she traveled for treatment in… America, and returned from there to get treatment back in Egypt On her last day, she woke up early and asked to call the doctors, but her condition became very bad, and they had to transfer her to Maadi Military Hospital there her husband Muhammad Sultan’s car was surprised by his question, then she surprised him with her answer, saying, “I am 17 years old, and these are the years I spent with you as a wife. ” later, he died in 1983 at the age of 52.
