Until now there are seven generals Russia who was reported killed in Russian invasion of Ukraine. One of the generals is even said to have died at the hands of his own men.
As reported by AFP, Saturday (26/3/2022), information on the death of seven Russian generals was conveyed by Western state officials. they gave the names of several Russian generals who died in Ukraine, one of whom was identified as Lieutenant General Yakov Rezanstev.
He is the commander of the 49th Joint Army of Russia in the southern military district. Later, another was identified as General Magomed Tushaev of the Chechen Special Forces, which President Vladimir Putin also sent to Ukraine.
The number of senior Russian soldiers and military officers reported killed in the month-long invasion of Ukraine has shocked Western military and security officials.
Some Western officials say the Russian military’s heavy toll is partly due to communication and logistical problems. It also reportedly led a number of senior Russian officers to use unencrypted channels which eventually exposed them to Ukrainian forces.
