Tropical Storm Mindy has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and led to the issuance of a warning to the people of Florida.

“Mindy” can bring as much as 15 centimeters of rain in Florida and southern Georgia and South Carolina on Thursday morning, the US National Hurricane Center said.

On Wednesday night, the storm was about 145 kilometers southwest of Apalachiola in Florida and moved north at a speed of 34 kilometers per hour and with a wind speed of up to 18 meters per second.
Mindy is the 13th storm so far this hurricane season to be so strong that it has been named and categorized as a tropical storm. In the years 1991 to 2020, it happened on average at the end of October, according to hurricane researcher Phil Klotzbach at Colorado State University.
