The State of Christopher Nkunku’s Health Could Decide Chelsea’s Transfer Window: Mauricio Pochettino’s Press Conference Insights

Zapping Onze Mondial EXCLUDED: Moussa Diaby’s “Little Brother” interview!

Nkunku, the key to the Chelsea transfer window? At a press conference yesterday, Mauricio Pochettino spoke about possible transfers from the Blues while admitting, half-heartedly, that they would take place depending on the state of form of Christopher Nkunku. “We will soon decide [si un nouvel attaquant arrivera au club]. I still don’t have all the information to know if Nkunku will be available or not for a short period. We have to be very clinical in making certain decisions,” clarified the Argentine tactician.

A player who struggles to justify his transfer

Arriving in the summer of 2023 at Chelsea for 60 million euros from RB Leipzig, the French international has so far only worn the colors of his club four times, due to injuries recurring. Only a month after his transfer, the former PSG player had to undergo knee surgery which sidelined him for almost 140 days. Despite his first minutes played at the beginning of December and his first goal against Wolverhampton, the native of Lagny-sur-Marne (France) recently relapsed in training with a hip injury. A worrying fragility which, combined with the departure of Nicolas Jackson for the CAN, leaves Albanian striker Armando Broja alone at the forefront of the London attack. To be continued…

To sum up

Mauricio Pochettino recently declared at a press conference that the Blues transfer window would depend on the state of health of Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman, too often injured, has only worn the Chelsea jersey four times since his transfer last summer.
