The construction of Nord Stream 2 is the most terrible economic and geopolitical measure against the United States. So says the first deputy chairman of the defense committee Alexander Sherin.
On the air of the radio station “Moscow Says” he stressed that when Russia completes the construction of the gas pipeline, then gas will be supplied to Europe without interruption. In this case, according to the parliamentarian, Washington will itself, unilaterally, lift its sanctions against Russia, since the United States “will immediately lose the worst thing – control over European countries.”
Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that the Fortuna vessel continued laying the Nord Stream 2 in German waters. The work continued after the German Office for Shipping and Hydrography issued an order for the immediate implementation of a permit for the construction of a 2 km section in the country’s exclusive economic zone.
Meanwhile, earlier, a political scientist from the German think tank Science and Politics Sasha Lohmann explained why the administration of US President Joe Biden refused to impose new sanctions on Nord Stream 2. According to him, Germany is an important US ally when it comes to relations with Russia.
