The General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment held the first scientific conference on addiction treatment entitled “Focus on Recovery”, chaired and attended by Dr. Mona Abdel-Maksoud, Secretary-General of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment.
Dr. Ahmed Okasha, a professor of psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams, and a number of consultants specializing in the treatment of addiction locally and internationally, and the young doctors of the Psychological Health Safety, who was held at the Princess Fatima Academy for Vocational Medical Education (formerly the National Training Institute), participated in the conference.
Dr. Menen Abdel-Maksoud, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of Mental Health at the Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that the conference is the first scientific conference looking at addiction treatment in the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat for Mental Health, and aims to get acquainted with scientific lectures and implement them in workshops to become strongly the theoretical part, and to search all ways to help addiction patients To recover.
Abdelmaksoud mentioned that the lectures included many different topics related to addiction treatment and workshops, pointing out that this is within the framework of the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat for Mental Health keenness to display the latest scientific developments in addiction treatment and continuing medical education for its doctors.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Fawzi Al-Souda, Assistant Minister of Health for Continuing Medical Education and President of the Princess Fatima Academy for Training, said that there will be an effective participation between the academy and the Mental Health Secretariat for the repetition of these activities, and that the academy is in the process of promoting medical conferences at all levels of service providers, including doctors and nursing And technicians to support continuing medical education programs.
The Academy will also implement many training programs and scientific meetings during the current month that will not be limited to being held in Cairo, but in various governorates to facilitate the arrival of training and medical education for doctors in their workplaces, and will be in the specializations of “radiology, general surgery, spas, obstetrics, cardiac resuscitation, internal medicine, kidney disease and trauma surgery, Psychiatry and addiction treatment. “
The Academy had previously held a number of training courses and scientific conferences for young doctors in the framework of the application of the Ministry’s policy of caring for medical education, and new and multiple professional programs were added, as well as decentralization in the training place.
