The end of more than three months of waiting! Sunday June 28, 2020, the second round municipal elections – first scheduled for March 22 but postponed due to the health crisis – will finally be able to take place. As a reminder, the first round took place on March 15, just before the confinement was announced.
127 municipalities concerned
In Côte-d’Or, this Sunday there will be a second round in 127 municipalities. Two scenarios:
- Seven municipalities will a list ballot. In Dijon, Beaune, Neuilly-Crimolois, Fénay and Messigny-et-Vantoux, it will be a triangular, a match between three lists. In Auxonne and Plombières-lès-Dijon, two lists will face each other.
- In the communes 120 remaining communes, all of less than 1000 inhabitants, we will vote in a “multi-member ballot”. This means that we do not vote for a list, but directly for a candidate. It is by relative majority: no need to win more than 50% of the votes, it is enough to have more votes than the other candidates to be elected to the municipal council.
- In about fifteen municipalities in the department, there will be no second round, a sufficient number of candidates is required.
