The spread of fear of’Ebola’ in Africa… Guinea officially declares’fashion’

-The Ebola virus fear is spreading in Africa. Health authorities in the region are tense as signs of a recurrence emerge, especially in West Africa, where Ebola killed more than 10,000 people from 2013 to 2016.

According to major foreign media such as Al Jazeera on the 14th, Guinea, a West African country, announced the news of the Ebola outbreak in its country and officially declared the Ebola outbreak. Sakoba Keita, the head of the Guinea Health and Safety Administration, held an emergency meeting on the day and said, “Recently, we have confirmed cases of Ebola infection and started an epidemiological investigation on patients.”

Guinea health officials announced on the day that a total of four people died due to suspected cases of Ebola infection to date. The number of Ebola patients officially confirmed to date is seven, of which three have died from Ebola infection. After attending a nurse’s funeral in Nzerekore, southeastern Guinea on the 1st of this month, they all showed signs of Ebola suspicion, such as vomiting and bleeding. Guinea health authorities first confirmed that the nurse who died also showed similar symptoms of the disease.

The Ebola epidemic declaration in West Africa is the first time since it officially declared an end to the region in 2016. At that time, Ebola outbreaks in Sierra Leone and Liberia, starting with Guinea, resulted in a major health disaster in which a total of 11,300 people died in three years from 2013. While the Guinea government requested international relief assistance, including the supply of Ebola treatments to the World Health Organization, neighboring Sierra Leone closed its border with Guinea and raised the national health emergency response stage to stage 2. Prior to this, deaths from Ebola were reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in central Africa on the 7th of this month. Democratic Congo is an area where Ebola has been circulating periodically since its first discovery in 1976 and until last year. During the 11th epidemic last year, 55 people died from Ebola. Ebola is a deadly infectious disease that causes hemorrhagic fever with a mortality rate of 30-40%. It is believed to be an infectious disease that is difficult to manage due to infection with only a small amount of body fluid. Ebola is transmitted through the body fluids, secretions, and blood of infected people, but it can also be transmitted through animals.
