The southern health union of the GHBS calls for resources – Lorient

Sud santé sociaux did not appreciate the announcements of the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, this Friday, November 26. For the union section of the GHBS, they are “completely out of step with reality in nursing homes” with regard to the pandemic. The union stresses that contaminations are resuming. “This situation is particularly serious because of the risks associated with the disease for residents and agents, but also because of the insufficiency of replacements at the GHBS,” he wrote in a statement.

Sud santé recalls that it has denounced the shortage of staff and replacement resources for years. “This situation has worsened in recent months with the numerous departures from the public hospital and the historic difficulties of recruiting”. The union calls for immediate reinforcements in “services dedicated to the elderly”. This concerns nursing homes, but also geriatric and general-purpose medicine services.

Mobilization on December 4 and 7

“Without significant additional financial resources for the public hospitals, they will continue to limit the largely insufficient staff in our services: the permanently degraded working conditions make the hospital the champion of industrial accidents and occupational diseases, and an unprecedented number of departures of agents (doubled for two years at GHBS)! This situation is unacceptable! », Ends the union before calling on the population and the staff to mobilize this Saturday, December 4, at 2 pm, in Pontivy, for the demonstration organized by the Collective of defense of the public hospital in Center-Brittany. Then on December 7, at 10 a.m., near the Askoria building in Lorient.
