The Solar Eclipse from Space Captured by NASA, Amazing!

The solar eclipse from outer space looks absolutely stunning. NASA has just shared pictures of the phenomenon occurring.

Like eclipses in general, it is seen that solar eclipses that occur outside the Earth also make the main star covered in shadow.

Through NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft, this amazing event was captured.

Watching the Solar Eclipse from Space

So far, eclipses occur quite often on Earth and are not something strange anymore. However, what happens if the eclipse is seen from space?

The question was answered already after NASA shared the images they captured of the eclipse that occurred in outer space.

The Solar Dynamics Observatory satellite is a spacecraft belonging to the American Space Agency which is instrumental in taking eclipse pictures from space.

The spacecraft does have a mission to observe the sun. When the eclipse occurs, of course the spacecraft can get amazing pictures.

So, how does it look? Like eclipses seen from Earth, eclipses seen from space also create a dark side because the sun is obscured by objects in front of it.

At the peak of the eclipse, the moon managed to cover 67% of the sun and the lunar mountains were illuminated by the fire of the giant star.

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) Satellite Mission

SDOs that tread a solar eclipse from outer space usually observe the sun in space or radiation in outer space as a source of weather, which also affects Earth.

The aspects that SDO studied are sunspots, the sun’s magnetic field, and other aspects that will affect activity during a regular 11-year cycle.

“The task of SDO is to observe activity from the sun that causes space weather, interior measurements, magnetic fields, atmosphere, and the output of spacecraft energy. Then everything works to help us understand the star,” NASA wrote.

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) satellite was first launched in February 2010 and is part of the network of solar spacecraft owned by NASA and its partners, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The sun has also recently been quite active at the start of a cycle that should peak in 2025.

Scientists are interested in following the story of the origin of solar flares as well as the ejection of their coronal mass that accompanies various charged particles. Thus creating a beautiful aurora on Earth if the CME points to this planet.

Usually these CMEs are also harmless, but a strong explosion can disrupt satellites, power lines, and other infrastructure.
