Adelaide: The former Australian captain’s observation about the lack of Indian youth is going viral. In the first Test starting today, Ponting pointed out the shortcomings of the Open Prithvi show’s batting style.
Ponting had pointed out that the gap between the pad and the bat was dangerous even as the show was coming to a close at the crease. Within seconds of this being said, the wicket of the show was thrown at Starc’s ball. The ball bounced inwards and hit the inside edge of the bat.
Prithviraj is the only player to have played under Ponting, who is also the coach of Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Fans were amazed at the accuracy of the observation in Ponting’s comment box, which accurately assessed the show’s shortcomings.
