Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) again gave shocking news. The company announced the sale of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) shares.

So, who owns Alfamart?

Who doesn’t know Alfamart, a retail store that today is a place for people to shop. The shops providing daily necessities have spread to 18,000 shops across Indonesia.
It is known that the founder and owner of Alfamart is Djoko Susanto. He has even been named one of the richest people in Indonesia due to the success of his business.

Djoko is also included in the list of richest people in Indonesia in 2021. This list references Forbes World’s Billionaires List The Richest in 2021.

His business quickly turned smokers, wholesalers and retailers into regular customers. He bet that smokers would pay much more than they thought.

This caught the attention of Putera Sampoerna, which owned the largest tobacco and clove cigarette company in Indonesia at the time. They met in early 1980 and agreed in 1985 to build 15 kiosks in different locations in Jakarta.

Long story short, in 2009, Djoko also brought Alfamart to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, which at that time already had 3,300 outlets.

In addition to the supermarket business, Djoko Susanto still has other business lines, one of which is property.

According to forbes.com, Djoko Susanto’s wealth currently reaches IDR 3.2 billion or when converted to IDR 47.6 trillion. And it became number 22 for richest people in Indonesia.
