The building is seven stories high and provides equipment and facilities that meet infectious disease control, occupational safety and health standards. After the opening of the Forensic Medicine Building in the New Territories (Sha Tin), the current Fu Shan Public Mortuary will cease to function on January 7 next year. In addition, the government is planning to re-provision the Victoria Public Mortuary in Kennedy Town to meet growing demand.
