(BZ). For the 2020/21 winter semester, the semester ticket for students at Freiburg universities will be cheaper. The price for the ticket, which is valid for six months in the area of the Regio-Verkehrsverbund (RVF), drops from 94 to 89 euros. This means that local transport in the city of Freiburg and in the districts of Emmendingen and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald can be used without restrictions. Students who do not buy a semester ticket will in future have free travel on the RVF buses and trains every day from 7 p.m. as well as on Sundays and public holidays. The price reduction to 89 euros was made possible because the student union, student representatives and RVF agreed to increase the solidarity fee. Students at the Albert Ludwig University, the University of Education, the University of Music and now also the Catholic University can buy their semester ticket online, students from other universities at the usual sales outlets and machines.
