Following an article published by Mayotte the first, the question of the location of the second hospital to come seemed to be in doubt. Referring to territorial issues related to the future site of the hospital, our colleagues hinted that another site, “near Chirongui”, might be considered.
This is not the case, as denied by a joint communiqué from CHM and ARS: “The work in progress on the future regional health project of Mayotte, as well as on the medical-caregiver project of the CHM, which will lead to the first quarter of 2023, confirm the commitment of the two institutions in the desire to build the island’s second hospital site in Combani as soon as possible. Presumably, the next hospital complex on the lagoon island will see the light in Combani, as announced by former overseas minister Sébastien Lecornu in February 2022.
