Scientists from Princeton University in the USA have developed several scenarios for the spread of the coronavirus pandemic five years ahead. Their main conclusion is that only the formation of herd immunity can contain the new virus. The research results are published in the journal Science.
The authors studied everything that is known about the possible severity of this infection, the characteristics of the primary and secondary infection.
The results showed that the main factor in shaping the future trajectory of the global coronavirus pandemic is the strength and resilience of natural and especially vaccine-induced immunity. RIA Novosti.
The authors also argue that the coronavirus vaccine could severely limit the spread of the infection in the future.
Over the past day, 6,215 people infected with coronavirus have been identified in Russia in 83 regions, including 23 new cases in Tatarstan.
In total, 1,115,810 cases were identified in the country. Moscow became the absolute leader in terms of the daily increase in infections, where the number of new cases is approaching 1,000 (980). In second place is St. Petersburg (211), in third – Rostov region (181). Tatarstan, on the contrary, in terms of the number of new cases became the 6th from the end: fewer were detected only in five regions – these are Chechnya (4), Smolensk region (12), the Jewish Autonomous Okrug and Karelia (15 each), as well as Mari El (22 ).
