The site was therefore exceptionally closed on Tuesday morning, “for the first time in its history, due to the rapid and unprecedented increase in flood waters on the site,” the organization said by email.

Photos from the site show the waterfall extremely powerful and in high spate.

Images that clash with the usual photos that can be seen on the website.

The flow of Montmorency Falls is also particularly strong, as shown by live camera footage.

The Quebec region received between 70 to 110 mm of rain from Sunday to Tuesday morning.
