Waasland-Beveren continues to legally oppose a possible demotion from 1A. The club today pleaded in summary proceedings before the corporate court in Dendermonde. The Waaslanders demand: a penalty of 5 million euros per game that starts in the Jupiler Pro League. The verdict follows Thursday, one day before the general meeting of the Pro League.

“We ask that Waasland-Beveren be included in the 1A calendar again,” Tom Rombouts, club lawyer, tells Sporza. “Just before the BAS ruling on July 8, the Pro League has presented a calendar that does not include Waasland-Beveren. Today we were here to ask if the BAS wants to destroy the club’s relegation and adjust the calendar. ”
Waasland-Beveren requests a suspension of the competition, with the requirement of five million euros per game that is played anyway. Rombouts: “We just ask that the Pro League respect the BAS’s judgment, and that has not happened to this day. The Pro League is squeezing every corner not to do this. ”
