The Rand Isabel II was supposedly furious over her great-granddaughter’s name according to a royal author who just revived the feud between the palace and the Prince Harry/Meghan Markle.
Robert Hardman is calling false the royal couple’s claims that the Queen was in favor of her childhood nickname being passed on to the princess Lilibet, writing in an excerpt from her new biography, “Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story,” that she was the angriest about this.
This supports the statement made by the BBC royal correspondent —Jonny Dymond— shortly after of the birth of Lilibet on June 4, 2021, which claims the couple never told the Queen anything about using the name, much less getting her permission to do so.
Another Daily Mail report doubles down on the new book’s claims, saying that the Queen was already frustrated at not owning her own palaces and paintings, and only Harry and Meg could take the last thing she owned… her name.
The report quotes an anonymous source as saying that Liz said something like: “‘I don’t own the palaces, I don’t own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now it’s been taken away from me.”
The Queen is also said to have been taken aback when she learned of Harry’s intention to name his daughter Lilibet, but felt she could not publicly say no.
However, this new “naming and shaming” It’s the latest stab the couple has taken at the royal family, we’re sure there will be something new next week.
You have to wonder if Harry and Meghan will object to this last statement… we know they tend to get very defensive about this sort of thing.
