The Rolling Stones are coming to Bern in June

Zurich – The legendary Rolling Stones are far from having enough: they are going on a European tour this summer and are celebrating their 60th anniversary in Bern’s Wankdorfstadtion, among other places – on Friday, June 17, 2022.

The Rolling Stones announce fourteen concerts in ten European countries this summer and announce the title of their new tour – with “SIXTY” they celebrate their 60th anniversary. “SIXTY” builds on the great success of the celebrated “No Filter” tour in the USA, during which the band played to sold-out stadiums in autumn 2021 and sold over half a million tickets.

Start in Madrid
The brand new production will premiere in Madrid on June 1st. With «SIXTY», Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are also returning to their homeland of Great Britain. It will kick off with a special concert at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium, the Stones’ first stadium concert in the city and their first in Liverpool in over fifty years. This is followed by two shows in London’s Hyde Park.

It’s the 15th Stones show in Switzerland – after 49 years they are returning to Bern, where they played in 1973 in the old Festhalle Bern. At that time, André Bechir, together with Claude Nobs, organized the two shows. 19 years later, Bechir, today’s Senior Advisor of Gadget abc, has once again succeeded in engaging the Rolling Stones for a concert on the occasion of their 60th stage anniversary. It’s his 14th show with the band.

Spectacular production
As is to be expected for the band’s 60th birthday, the Stones spoil their fans with a set list packed with classics such as «Gimme Shelter», «Paint It Black», «Jumpin’ Jack Flash», «Tumbling Dice », «(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction», «Start Me Up» and many more. But it wouldn’t be a Rolling Stones concert without a few surprises and a selection of unexpected tracks from their impressive arsenal of songs. As always, fans can expect a spectacular production including a huge stage, a modern light show and gorgeous video designs.

The Stones are joined by Steve Jordan (drums), Chuck Leavell (keyboards), Darryl Jones (bass), Tim Ries & Karl Denson (horns), Matt Clifford (keyboards) and vocalists Bernard Fowler and Sasha Allen. Advance booking for the concert in Bern begins on Friday, March 18, 2022. (mc/pg)
