The “Rinaldo” directed by Luisi from the Itria Valley Festival

Händel’s Rinaldo went into the sena for the first time in the modern age in the Neapolitan version of 1718, at the 44th edition of the Valle d’Itria Festival, in 2018: it is the concert that Rai Cultura offers on Friday 29 July at 9.15 pm on Rai 5. On the podium Fabio Luisi, who conducts La Scintilla, a prestigious Swiss ensemble, specialized in the Baroque repertoire. The show is directed by Giorgio Sangati, a pupil of Luca Ronconi, who proposes a “rock” reinterpretation of the work.
In the part en travesti of Rinaldo the contralto Teresa Iervolino is involved, in that of Armida the soprano Carmela Remigio and again Loriana Castellano (Almirena), Francesca Ascioti (Argante), Francisco Fernández-Rueda (Goffredo), Dara Savinova (Eustazio), the students of the Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” (Dielli Hoxha, Kim-Lillian Strebel, Ana Victória Pitts) and, for the funny roles of Nesso and Lesbina, Simone Tangolo and Valentina Cardinali, actors from the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. The sets are by Alberto Nonnato, the costumes by Gianluca Sbicca and the lights by Paolo Pollo Rodighiero.
