The reseeding of the Bicentennial Stadium began

The Directorate of Operational Control, in charge of the maintenance of the Bicentennial Stadium, carried out the replanting of the property with perennial Ray Grass grass.

In a first stage, the playing field was worked, cutting it to 0.5 mm and vacuuming it so that no residue remained. Then, soil aeration was continued with vertical cross cuts so that the seeds reach the ground. Subsequently, fertilization and deep irrigation continue.

Once these tasks are completed, 800 kg of seeds are distributed throughout the field and covered with sand, keeping the field moist for 24 hours. Once this process is finished, it remains to wait for the seeds to burst and then continue with the fertilization work, aeration with solid spikes and helical cutting.

It is important to note that this process is carried out every year between April and May and was carried out by more than 10 DCO workers. With these replanting tasks, a grass carpet is achieved that generates a good rolling and sliding of the ball and in this way, the San Juan del Bicentenario Stadium meets the high standards required by international organizations.
