The railway administration will use the premises at the station for the Czech Post’s distribution boxes

Czech Post will be looking for operators of dispensing boxes.

Domestic railway stations will not only be visited for trains, but also for picking up packages, for example from e-shops. The Railway Administration has agreed with the Czech Post to build 144 dispensing points at stations and post offices. Gradually, the dispensing boxes should be extended to other stations.

The new plan was announced today by the Railway Administration in a press release. “Our goal is to gradually expand the portfolio of services that can be used daily at the stations not only by passengers, but also by everyone passing by. Setting up dispensing boxes is the first of these steps. I believe that the new service will be appreciated by the public, “Said Jiří Svoboda, General Director of the Railway Administration.

The dispensing points are to be operated by the company that wins the tender. “Today, people can pick up the package at more than five thousand post offices and external Parcel Packages. Nevertheless, we want to go even further in the offer of dispensing points. Together with the Railway Administration, we will offer the independent operator of dispensing boxes lucrative spaces where people will be able to pick up their consignment comfortably and practically at any time., “Says the CEO of the Czech Post Roman Knap.

The boxes will be located in 144 stations, for example at the main railway stations in Pilsen, Prague and Olomouc. They will also grow up in Havlíčkův Brod or Hodonín. 135 seats are also planned at Czech Post branches. A public tender will now be announced for the placement of boxes in the designated locations, and a lease agreement with the winner of the competition will be concluded for five years.
