The reconstruction of the guest house of the directors of the Līgatne paper mill has been awarded the Latvian Construction of the Year Award 2022 nomination “Restoration”. The building is a cultural monument of national importance, the Līgatne City Kindergarten has been operating in it for decades.
The renovation of the facade of the house and the improvement of energy efficiency were ordered by the administration of the Līgatne association of the Cēsu region municipality, the project author was Dace Gradovska, the builder was SIA “RERE MEISTARI”.
123 applications in 10 nominations have been submitted for the “Latvijas Būvnicieas gada balva 2022” competition, covering architecture, restoration, landscaping and civil engineering projects from various regions of Latvia.
Restoration and repair works in the building started already in 2021. Restoration of the facade, restoration of wooden parts and structural elements and improvement of energy efficiency have been carried out. The more than a hundred-year-old tile roofing has been replaced. Well-maintained territory.
The total cost of the project is 756.5 thousand euros without VAT. Funds – municipal loan from the State Treasury 421 thousand. euros and municipal budget funds, consisting of a donation to the Līgatne preschool educational institution of 69.9 thousand. euros and the financing intended for the renovation projects of educational institutions.
