The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Italian Federation opens an investigation into Juventus/Italia/Juventus/SOFOOT.com

The Old Lady close to collapse?

Although the vast majority of eyes are on Qatar, the Italian media have a lot to do with their other favorite topic: Juve. While the board of directors abruptly resigned on Monday, ending Andrea Agnelli’s 12-year presidency, the Turin side are sure to experience a turbulent next few months. Once again the Old Lady is in the crosshairs of federal investigators. This Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) announced it was opening an investigation into the contracts and salaries of Torino players, in particular in the 2020-2021 period.

Many files have already been sent by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office which tend to prove the possible capital gains made by the (former) managers biancocelesti. Indeed, the latter would take office a notional reduction in salaries and costs in 2020-2021, allowing them to omit debt to their players. We recall that last May several Turin executives (including Agnelli, Nedvěd, Paratici and Arrivabene) had already been entitled to an investigation into these capital gains, but in the end they had been acquitted due to the legal impossibility of defining an objective criterion for assessing the value of a player’s market. The investigation, taken over by the FIGC and its prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè, could force Juve to pay heavy fines or, in the worst case, administrative relegation.

And this time Massimiliano Allegri has nothing to be ashamed of.
