The PS5 was completely sold out in Japan. Sony confirms no sale of PlayStation 5 on the day of its release

The Japanese branch of PlayStation was the first to refer to the launch of PS5. In the Land of the Rising Sun, players cannot count on buying a PS5 on the day of its debut – the device has been completely sold out, you can only pick up previously ordered copies of the console.

Not only in Poland, the situation with the pandemic is getting worse day by day – a very important news has been published on the Japanese PlayStation blog. Players from the Land of the Rising Sun cannot expect to buy the console in stores on the day of the PS5 launch (November 12).

The industry giant also confirms the lack of organization of any events in the country, and at the same time wants to be sure that players will not stand in big queues, hoping to buy a PlayStation 5.

“For the safety of our customers, vendors and staff, there will be no in-store events or PS5 sales on PS5 launch. People who previously ordered a PS5 should contact the retail store where they ordered the PS5 for more information on how to pick up the console. “

The Japanese branch of PlayStation confirmed the important news: PS5 completely sold out in Japan:

“We regret to inform you that we are no longer accepting pre-orders on the day of the PS5 launch as we have reached full production capacity, but we expect to continue selling PS5 in the future.”

In order to pick up the consoles purchased in the preorder, Japanese players must contact the sellers directly. Let us remind you that yesterday the Polish government introduced new restrictions, thanks to which we will witness an analogous situation – some stores have already announced shipping consoles to players.

Currently, Sony has not confirmed when retailers will receive a second PlayStation 5 shipment.
