The production of Mercedes was interrupted by a leopard – Novinky.cz

Reports of car production breaks are common today in coronavirus, missing chips or the conflict in Ukraine. The latest plant to temporarily halt operations is the Mercedes-Benz line in Chakan, India, but for a rarer reason.

The leopard got into production and roamed the race for several hours. This, of course, sounded the alarm for the employees. Rescuers found the animal in a warehouse after several hours. Once in one place long enough, the leopard was put to a safe distance and taken away from the factory.

According to Wildlife SOS, it was a leopard male about three years old. The rescue took about four hours to complete and production stopped for about six hours. The animal is currently under medical supervision before release into the wild.

The assembly line is located in the state of Maharashtra, which has one of the highest leopard population densities in the world. However, rare beasts lose their environment, so there is a chance that something similar may happen again.

Mercedes’ plant in India assembles models such as the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class and CLA coupe. But also GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS crossovers.
