The price of oil is approaching an absolute record, amid the Western crises with Russia and Iran

Immediately after the start of electronic transactions on the Brent market in northwestern Europe, the price of a barrel of oil reached for a few minutes the level of $ 139.13. About an hour after the start of trading, the price had dropped to $ 130.45.

The absolute record for oil prices was $ 147.50 a barrel during the 2008 financial crisis.

And in the North American trading market – US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) – the price of oil reached a few minutes, on Sunday evening, the value of 130.50 dollars, according to the Reuters agency.

The rise in oil prices is the result of tensions between the West and Russia over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but also the delay in increasing the volume of Iran’s exports due to the stalemate in negotiations to relaunch the Nuclear Agreement.
