The President’s Role in Forming Bulgaria’s Government: Insights from Political Scientist Borislav Angelov

In the words of political scientist Borislav Angelov, “the president has catalyzed the process of forming a government.”

“Rumen Radev lost his nerve and the two political formations seized on what they lacked in order to unite and be able to explain to their voters why it is necessary to form a government,” he explained on Bulgaria On Air.

Angelov pointed out that each creation of a commission leads to additional costs for the parliament, which is why it remains unclear why the deputies refuse to waive their immunity before a specific one is created.

Angelov was adamant that the strongest figure in this NA will be Asen Vassilev.

The political scientist does not think that Rumen Spetsov is the best option for the head of the NRA.

“I do not think that this is the best option for the head of the NRA. The Minister of Finance has the right and he will bear the responsibility for Spetsov’s actions,” Angelov stressed.
