The President of Ukraine expressed concern that if the war in Ukraine were to be frozen, then countries could begin to ease sanctions and ask why a new package of sanctions and, for example, a tribunal is needed if there is no active hostilities. “If the war in Ukraine is frozen, Russia will have time to prepare for revenge. This must not be allowed. We must consolidate national societies, our plans must coincide with the plans and capabilities of our partners. This means receiving help, taking into account the capabilities of our partners as well. I have not detailed Ukraine’s goals on the front line entitled to comment,” said Zelensky, adding that the outcome of the war and the reconstruction of the country after the war depended on the unity of Ukraine and its supporting countries.

If Russia wins in Ukraine, it will gain confidence that NATO is weak, thus increasing the risk that the aggressor country will continue its attacks on the international world order, the influential think tank “Carnegie Endowment for International Peace” says.

If the West allows Russia to win, its appetite will not be limited to Ukraine and it will continue to destabilize the situation in various regions of the world, think tank analysts believe.

The French newspaper “Le Monde” recalls that after Putin’s big press conference in December, it is clear that he will not tolerate an independent and sovereign Ukraine. Peace talks are said to be possible only on Russia’s terms. This means that Ukraine must remain under Russia’s tutelage – there can be no question of rapprochement with the West.

Western analysts agree – if the international community allows Russia to win in Ukraine, this country will gain confidence that it can act as it wants, because the West is too weak and divided to be able to seriously stand against it. This will inevitably lead to the fact that Russia will try to strengthen its power both in the Middle East and in the so-called global south.
