The President of the World Bank expected in Togo this Friday

The President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass, begins from March 29 to April 1, 2023, an official visit to Niger and Togo. He will discuss during his stay, regional and global priorities including the strengthening of security and peace, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, food security, access to energy and education.

In Togo, where he has planned a 48-hour stay, starting Friday, March 31, Malpass will discuss with President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe and partners, areas of strategic intervention in the country, such as education, agriculture , the response to food insecurity in West Africa, digital development and social protection.

It will address the issue of resilience and inclusive growth in the Gulf of Guinea countries. The outgoing president of the World Bank should also visit the Ministry of Agriculture and the University of Lomé during his stay in the Togolese capital.

Malpass, on this journey, will be accompanied by Ousmane Diagana, Vice President of the World Bank for West and Central Africa, and by Sergio Pimenta, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Africa.
