On Wednesday, the zloty strengthened slightly in the morning, while the strengthening clearly gained strength during the conference of the NBP president, which began at 15.00. The exchange rate of the zloty fell below 4.5 per euro and remains approx. level 4.49.
At Wednesday’s conference president of NBP Adam Glapiński informed m.in. that the NBP hopes to strengthen the Polish currency and will do everything to strengthen the zloty. He added that there is no need to intervene in the currency market, although this possibility does not exclude.
– We do not rule out intervention if there was a sudden blow to the Golden. For now, however, there is no such need-said Adam glapiński.
Analysts see room for strengthening the Polish currency. – After the hawkish rhetoric of President glapiński and words supporting złoty, the EUR/PLN rate may reach around 4.48 in the coming days-said Maciej Madej, business analyst at TMS brokers.
