Born in Villefranche-d’Allier in 1943, Édouard Dolecki is French, but the septuagenarian has a second homeland of heart, Poland.
The latter returns her attachment to him because the president of the association Friendship France Poland Montluçon has become an honorary citizen of the town of Leszno with which the city on the banks of the Cher is twinned.
This was formalized on January 15, 2021, but due to the health crisis I was unable to travel to Poland. I was finally able to receive the key to Leszno from the hands of the Polish consul in Lyon on Tuesday 29 March.

Established since 2004, the twinning between Leszno and Montluçon was born from an initially economic relationship between two companies dating from before the 2000s. Over time, a strong friendship was forged between the president of Amitié France Poland Montluçon and the Polish municipality.
I have very close relations with the former municipality. Each time the association went on a trip to Poland, we ended our stay in Leszno

Already holder of the Polish Silver Cross of Merit
This title of honorary citizen is not the first distinction that this son of Polish immigrants, who arrived in France in 1937, received from the country of his parents.
“I received the Silver Cross of Polish Merit in 2016. I greatly appreciated this medal because, first of all, it is awarded by the Polish State on the decision of President Andrzej Duda”, underlines the recipient before to bid:
Then I saw that on the list that the name after mine was that of a general who received this cross of merit posthumously, so to have it during his lifetime is very strong.

A desire to see a new generation at the head of Amitié France Poland
Édouard Dolecki, who joined Amitié France-Poland in December 1978, can be proud to be at the head of an association which still has 200 members. Although still as attached to Poland, the man would like to pass the presidency to a new generation.
