Vacant for more than a month after the departure of Brodie Van Wagenen, the post of general manager of the New York Mets is slowly starting to see a few potential candidates emerge for the future.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, a quartet of contenders could end up in the Big Apple alongside new owner Steve Cohen. These include Boston Red Sox assistant general manager Zack Scott, in addition to Jared Porter, who serves in the same role with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Additionally, the names of Billy Owens (member of the Oakland A’s executive) and Michael Hill (ex-president and general manager of the Miami Marlins) surfaced during the day on Friday.
