The Polytechnic expands the offer of 100% online programs.

In times when virtual education and remote working have become increasingly important, the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico announces the inclusion of the Bachelor of Computer Science in its 100% online offerings.

The institute specializing in engineering, architecture and business administration programs has been developing courses that will be offered remotely for more than 15 years.

Last year, the university announced it was offering distance learning baccalaureates in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. This year, it launches the Informatica program in virtual mode, giving its students the possibility to take their courses asynchronously (via modules on the Blackboard platform).

The dean of the institute’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr. Carlos González Miranda, has ensured that this offer has the same accreditations and academic quality as the face-to-face program, including its laboratories and practical experiences.

“The student will complete the same curriculum and with the same academic rigour, having access to internship and job opportunities similar to those studying in person”said the principal.

He explained that all laboratories will be virtualized through simulators and virtual reality programs. While more specific laboratories will be sent to the student residences with the necessary equipment and materials.

Currently, the academic institution has three 100% online baccalaureate programs and contemplates including two additional programs by 2023.
