Avilés is not New Orleans or Chicago, but every August there are a few days in which soul, funk and other “black” sounds from the other side of the Charco resound strongly in the Muelle park. Today “those days” begin, the “La Grapa” festival begins and it does so with a line-up that intersperses local figures of the genre such as “The Soulers” from Gijón, who will open the festival at 9:00 p.m., with top-level artists such as the American Vanessa Collier, who will make the public vibrate with her saxophone starting at 10:15 p.m.
Then it will be the turn of one of the festival’s headliners, JP Bimeni, who will be accompanied by “The Black Belts” (11:45 p.m.). Bimeni already participated in the 2018 edition.
