LEMBANG, BBPOS – The natural phenomenon of a total lunar eclipse in the Lembang area, West Bandung Regency is clearly visible. The reason is, the weather when this natural phenomenon occurs is in good condition.
Head of BMKG Bandung Geophysics Station, Teguh Rahayu, explained that the observation of the eclipse was carried out using a telescope that is connected to a monitor screen directly and can be seen by the public.
“We use binoculars, but right now it’s a pandemic, to break up our crowd into three screens. So at the entrance, in the middle, and on this balcony,” he said, Wednesday (26/5).
He added that his party carried out observations starting in the initial phase at 15.40 WIB. Next, the phase of the lunar eclipse will be around 18.09 WIB.
“And at 18.18 minutes we can see the phase of the total lunar eclipse clearly and it ends at 18.28 minutes and the moon returns to normal at 21.00 WIB,” he explained.
Rahayu said, so far the weather for the total eclipse natural phenomenon is quite good. That way, phase by phase of the eclipse process is clearly observed by the naked eye.
“The peak of the eclipse with the weather is also supportive. It was clear on camera,” he said.
He emphasized that the total lunar eclipse phenomenon does not have a significant impact on natural phenomena. However, the waves on the coast have increased.
“It’s just that on the coast there is an increase in wave height, for example on the coast of West Java the normal is 1.5 to 2 meters. This observation at 7 am the wave height reached four meters,” he said.
