A real anomaly in the ultra-young workforce of the Hawks, Vince Carter has therefore received an excellent nickname reflecting his relative extreme old age, as well as his immense experience.

In the midst of the rebuilding process, the franchise has been able to count on numerous draft rounds in recent years, which have laid a solid foundation for the future. Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter… So many talented players not exceeding the 21-year-old mark.
But when you read the names that make up Lloyd Pierce’s group, a number is obvious: 43, the age of Vince Carter. The league veteran doesn’t quite fit the prototype player currently favored by Atlanta, and yet. Despite his big age difference with his teammates, the winger seems perfectly integrated.
Submitted this Tuesday to questions from Ernie Johnson on the show NBA Together, Trae Young spoke of the contribution of such an experienced player to his young team. He took the opportunity to reveal the nickname offered by him and his teammates to Air Canada.

He’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever had, just looking at everything he’s taught me in the two years I’ve played with him. They call him “Yoda” because he’s the oldest guy. He’s still good, but he knows everything in the world!
As the famous presenter of Turner SportsCarter was drafted even before Ice Trae was born. He is therefore in a better position to provide advice to the young guard in Atlanta, and even more to his apprentice leader. However, let’s hope that we will have the opportunity to meet the two men again in the Hawks jersey in the coming months, before Vince leaves the field for good.
Symbol of the old generation of the league, Vince Carter borrows wonderfully the costume of Yoda within his franchise of the Hawks, and seems to transmit all his knowledge to his young padawans for their greatest happiness.
