/ world today news/ The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sofia has initiated a competition related to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China, as well as the upcoming Chinese New Year /Spring Holiday/. The contests are titled “The peony meets the rose” is in two modules – for photos and for drawings, and the deadline for sending the works is January 30 of this year.

As part of the preparations for the celebrations on the occasion of the anniversary, as well as on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese New Year, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria organized a photography and drawing competition under the title “The peony meets the rose”. Both Bulgarian citizens and Chinese living permanently in Bulgaria can participate in it.

The aim of the initiative is to show wonderful moments of Chinese-Bulgarian friendship and partnership in various areas of life.

Here are the details of the contest:

Bulgarian citizens, as well as Chinese citizens (long-term residents in Bulgaria) can participate.

The theme of the works is related to various pleasant and memorable moments that recreate the friendship between Bulgaria and China, as well as remarkable landscapes and paintings from both countries, in the form of drawings or photographs. Topics related to Chinese culture and art, achievements in various fields, traditions and customs characteristic of various holidays or occasions – all these can also be the subject of the photos.

The life of ordinary people – both in China and Bulgaria, with their customs and favorite places for a walk or entertainment, drawings that express feelings and their emotions.

As the 10-year anniversary of the One Belt One Road initiative was also recently celebrated, various works related to the project’s achievements and initiatives in the context of modernization and digitization in various areas of life can participate in the competition.

The competition will be held in two modules – for photographs and for drawings.

Conditions for participation in the photo contest:

Each participant in the photography contest can submit 2-3 photographic works in JPEG or JPG format, the file size between 2-12 MB, with clear quality and high resolution.

In the email, each participant must write the module of their participation /photo contest or drawing contest/, as well as the name of the author and title of the work.

Entrants are required to keep the original files so they can be made available for information verification.

It is important to note that photos or drawings must be originals, and copies or similar works that violate copyright will not be accepted. Watermarked photos such as logos, website names, links, etc. are also not allowed. Participants agree that the organizer may use the selected works for advertising, exhibition, online distribution, etc. without additional payment of remuneration.

Conditions for participation in the drawing contest: There are no restrictions on the size, style and materials used for the drawings, but they must have been drawn relatively recently. . Drawings must be copyrighted and original, and copies or similar works that infringe copyright will not be accepted. Watermarked graphics such as logo, website name, links, etc. are not allowed.

There are three age categories in which the drawings will be distributed: 6 to 10 years (children’s group), 11 to 17 years (adolescent group) and over 18 years (adult group).

First, second and third prizes will be awarded separately for works in all three age groups.

Upon registration, the drawing is sent as an electronic document/file, the size of the image or scanned copy must be between 2-12 MB and the image quality must be clear. After being selected for participation, the original drawing must be sent by mail to the Embassy of China in Bulgaria (recipient and address: Zhu Dukai, 58 James Boucher Blvd., Sofia).

Entrants agree that the Promoter may use the selected works for advertising, distribution, exhibition, online distribution, etc. without additional payment of remuneration.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition, and they will be awarded separately in the two modules – for photos and for drawings.

The Drawing module will be divided into 3 groups according to the different age groups. Each group will be awarded one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and 10 incentive prizes.

In the “Photography” module, the prizes are as follows: First prize – a voucher worth BGN 300 from Technopolis, Second prize – a voucher worth BGN 200 from Technopolis, Third prize – a voucher worth BGN 100 from Technopolis; incentive prizes – handmade products and souvenirs on the theme of Peking Opera.

In the “Drawing” module, the prizes for the groups for children and teenagers are as follows: vouchers from Technopolis worth 500 BGN, 300 BGN, 200 BGN and incentives of 50 BGN each. For the group for adults, the prizes are vouchers from Technopolis worth respectively from BGN 800, BGN 500, BGN 300 and BGN 50 each for incentives.
