The statements of the Russians about the alleged “destruction” of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems transferred to Ukraine do not correspond to reality.
This was stated by a US Department of Defense official at a briefing on July 22, writes CNN.
“As of this morning (July 22 – UNIAN), according to our negotiations with the Ukrainians, this is a lie. All HIMARS continue to be a thorn in the side for Russia,” the official said.
In addition, the Pentagon spokesman added that the occupiers are trying to adapt to HIMARS on the battlefield. However, attempts are not crowned with success.
“Ukrainians have strongly focused on Russian command posts, on logistics facilities, including weapons depots, so the Russians are trying to mitigate the consequences through camouflage, movement, changing locations. I can’t say how effective this is, but it seems not very much,” – said a US Department of Defense official.
The Pentagon spokesman added that HIMARS in Ukraine are intact thanks to the exceptional abilities of Ukrainian soldiers.
