The Palau de la Música de València has chosen to compensate instead of reinstating Manuel Muñoz in the post of deputy director, from which he was dismissed in 2019, as reported by the City Council lawyer to the Social Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Community, which declared that dismissal inadmissible.

The Social Chamber of the TSJCV declared in a recent ruling inadmissible the dismissal in 2019 of Manuel Muñoz as deputy director of the Palau de la Música de València and condemned the municipal autonomous body to reinstate him or compensate him with 24,232 euros, an option for which he has opted the consistory.
With this decision, the court upheld the appeal filed by Muñoz, against a resolution of the Social Court number 18 that had given the reason to the Palau. Muñoz had signed in July 2015 a contract as Deputy Director of Music at the Palau, which lasted until 2019.
The court considered that the plaintiff “was not senior management personnel” and his employment relationship with the Palau was “of an ordinary nature”, so his dismissal, by not formalizing the extension of the employment relationship in August 2019, became an “unfair” dismissal as that ordinary employment relationship had to have been considered as “indefinite”.
