The Operation Enfant Soleil telethon goes forward

Despite the pandemic, the Opération Enfant Soleil telethon will be back for a 33rd edition in June.

Obviously, due to the health crisis, the formula had to be renewed.

Everything will be done without an audience this year, but several artists will still be there.

The event will be held intermittently on June 7 on TVA.

For Opération Enfant Soleil, the telethon is an event of great importance each year!

– “We want to show, basically, sick children and their families that we still think of them, that we are by their side, that, yes, there is an exceptional crisis situation at present, but that the illness continues to plague children and we have to think about it afterwards, ”explains Julie Lemieux, President and CEO of Opération Enfant Soleil.

The DG estimates that the event usually brings in around $ 2.4 million for the day itself, while specifying that it is also the “culmination of a year-round fundraising campaign”.

In all, the campaign raises more than $ 20 million per year. The money is given to hospitals, large hospitals, such as Sainte-Justine and the CHU de Québec.

The changed formula will make room for several pre-recorded portions, but also several live portions to keep you informed of the amount raised during this day.
