In the last 24 hours, Portugal registered 15 new suspected cases of infection with the new coronavirus, increasing the total to 85, of which 73 were negative and the remaining 12 are awaiting results, announced today the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
The data appear in the daily epidemiological bulletin of Covid-19, according to which Portugal did not register, at 7 pm today, any case of infection.
In the last 24 hours, 15 new suspected cases were reported, another four compared to the number of new suspected cases released on Saturday.
DGS maintains moderate to high the risk to public health in Portugal and reiterates that, “taking into account the global epidemiological situation, it is necessary to consider the possibility of importing cases of illness from citizens from China or from other areas with community transmission active ”, namely from Italy, Iran, Singapore, Japan and South Korea.
The Covid-19 outbreak, detected in December in China and which can cause respiratory infections such as pneumonia, caused at least 2,980 deaths and infected more than 87,000 people, according to data reported by 60 countries.
Of the infected people, more than 41,000 recovered.
In addition to 2,873 deaths in China, there are fatalities in Iran, Italy, South Korea, Japan, France, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, the United States of America and the Philippines.
