The number of new Covid-19 cases registered in the United States exceeded 94,000 on Friday, rising to a new 24-hour record for the second day in a row, according to data compiled by Jones Hopkins University.
In the 24 hours to 20.30 on Friday (2.30 pm on Saturday, Latvian time), 94,125 new infections have been confirmed in the United States, which is a new record.
The previous 24-hour record for new Covid-19 cases was 91,295 on Thursday.
Since the start of the pandemic, more than nine million cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in the United States, more than in any other country in the world.
