The number of infections in Galicia due to the Balearic outbreak rises to 70 | Radio Vigo

Coronavirus infections in Galicia related to end-of-year trips to Mallorca already amount to 70, as reported this Saturday by the Department of Health. In addition, there are 600 people in quarantine for these cases.

By health areas, the highest number of positives is in Pontevedra-O Salnés (48). It follows the farthest distance: the area of ​​Lugo, Monforte and Mariña (10); Vigo (8) and Ourense (4). The areas of A Coruña, Santiago and Ferrol have not detected cases from the Balearic outbreak so far.

The Ministry of Health appeals to caution and calls for a mask to be worn at graduation ceremonies.

Sanidade activated testing, quarantine and tracking protocols for students from at least 11 educational centers in Galicia in different areas, who have confirmed trips to the Balearic Islands of their students.

This ‘macro outbreak’ for end-of-year trips to the Balearic Islands exceeds 600 infections in eight communities in which cases have been detected.
