The number of infected people is declining, and Šumperk is the “densest” district

The number of those infected in 24 hours in the Olomouc Region in the last 7 days did not exceed 500, while last week it jumped above 800.

Warning numbers are also not reported by nursing homes, where clients and employees are widely tested.

“The situation in the Olomouc Region is developing favorably. The trend is declining, “regional epidemiologist Růžena Haliřová told Deník on Friday.

“Most cases are asymptomatic or with a mild course of the disease. There is no deteriorating trend in the number of hospitalizations, hospitals are managing the situation, “added the epidemiologist.

In recent days, it has not registered any new outbreaks that would arise, for example, from comprehensive testing in social services facilities.

“These are not disturbing numbers. The results correlate with the overall situation, which is developing positively, “she added.

Sufficient capacity in hospitals

Units were captured in the largest home for the elderly, the Pohoda Olomouc-Chválkovice Home for the Elderly.

“During the first testing, which took place on Friday, we had five positive clients and one employee. Yesterday we had one positive client. Testing certainly does not reveal any high numbers. The situation is calm, “summed up the director Jiří Floder.

The number of hospitalizations has decreased. There were 102 patients with covid at the Olomouc University Hospital on Friday morning.

“It was 136 last Friday,” hospital spokesman Adam Fritscher told the Daily.

The same trend was recorded in the Prostějov hospital, where 83 positive covid were hospitalized on Friday, November 13, in standard beds and 16 in ARO and ICU.

“Today it is 71 and 16 at the ARO and ICU,” hospital spokeswoman Radka Miloševská told Deník on Friday afternoon.

Hospitals in the Olomouc Region currently have sufficient capacity for covid positive patients. On Friday, 43 percent of beds with artificial lung ventilation and over 30 percent of standard beds with oxygen were available.
